 | Debbie’s reasons for moving here are more personal than artistic.
"I traveled around the States and Mexico and Europe and got hooked here.
It's a fascinating place and I felt so connected.
It felt like home - which didn’t make a bit of sense. But I just kept coming back
and staying and staying, until, for one reason or another, I had to leave.
I'd feel this heaviness. I’d go to the States and wake up in the mornings and I soon as
I would open my eyes and realize I wasn’t here, I’d feel this heaviness inside,
start my day on a down. I had this huge connection - but it took me a lot of years to decide what to do.
I'd come here and stay six, seven months and think, 'this time, I'll be done with it.' But I never was.
So I moved."
